Triad is a piece inspired by the concept of threes as it applies to modern ideology, examples being the three parts of human personality; id, ego, and superego, or the three dimensions of existence. The three onyx pillars serve as a representation of this notion. Handcrafted through lost wax casting by Bashar Abouljoud.
Over The Edge” captures the feeling of absent ground support during periods of stress. The hollow ring is designed specifically to be worn on the pinky, as the onyx would appropriately be over the edge of the wearer’s hand. The onyx and its association with recentering energy prevents the being, represented by the crystal, from falling, as it is held tight to the bezel and jump ring above it. Handcrafted through metal fabrication by Bashar Abouljoud.
Natural Obstruction is a ring representative of the duality of nature. Generally seen as a graceful occurrence. As vines wrap around the ring in a chaotic matter, they result in a "natural obstruction". Claw-like details at the top of the ring appear to close in on the garnet also atop the piece. Despite the beauty of natures blessings, its harshness and raw edges are explored in this piece. Handcrafted through lost wax casting by Bashar Abouljoud.
A wide brimmed hat created from completely organic materials, this hat was naturally dyed and starched by hand. An exploration of sustainable craft. Designed, patterned, and constructed by Bashar Abouljoud.
